Pair of Willys-Overland CJ-3A Military Aircraft Auxiliary Power Unit Projects

In 1951, Willys-Overland produced two CJ-3A vehicles destined for a unique role as auxiliary power units in the U.S. Navy. Converted by Valentine Welder & Manufacturing Company, these distinctive yellow jeeps boast a characteristic seven-slot grille and flat front fenders. Their interiors have been stripped down to accommodate a single-seat operator's station, powering not just movement but also aircraft engine starts during the jet age.
