This is a 1956 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coupe project car, located in Portland, Oregon. Manufactured in 1956 during the late 1950s motor vehicle era, this distinct model features a "lowlight" coupe design acquired by its current owner in 2013 as a disassembled project. Over an eleven-year period, extensive mechanical refurbishment was undertaken, including replacement of the floors and overhaul of the brakes, installation of a TRW steering box and rebuilt front beam with drop spindles, and conversion to 12-volt electrical system. The car remains mechanically incomplete, still awaiting full restoration as a rare German classic project vehicle.
